While I really enjoyed the book, I found there to be too many secrets and riddles. I didn't understand each mother keeping vital information from their child, who lives daily in a life threatening environment. Or giving them a way to get information, without leaving them with instructions on how to retrieve said information. The boys protect Maxine, but Zee never answers any questions she has. He only answers in riddles or that he can't tell her because of promises made.I do think people would benefit from reading Hunter Kiss (ebook) before reading this book, because it gives you a backstory, which I felt was needed while reading this one. I had to stop reading this story, read Hunter Kiss, and then go back to The Iron Hunt.
